Joana Neves dos Reis
Studying MPhil/PhD in Biochemical Engineering EPSRC Doctoral Training Grant [email protected] In my Masters Research Project I contacted with the complex and emerging field of Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine and I saw an opportunity to make a contribution to the Medical field and improve people’s lives. As I am passionate about science, challenges and particularly interested in bioprocesses, I felt that a PhD in a Regenerative Medicine was the next logical step in my early career. Project: Development of pre-clinical assays for functional testing of conditionally immortalised cell lines for neural regeneration Developing in vitro assays for characterising an OEC cell line, confirm functional equivalence between primary and immortalized OECs and determining Critical Quality Attributes (CQA) of the cells for neuronal regeneration. Previously: BSc/MSc in Biological Engineering. Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa, University of Lisbon, Portugal. 2009-2014 Undergraduate Student Researcher, Regenerative Medicine Group, Biochemical Engineering Department, University College London, February to June 2014 Summer Trainee R & D in FDA approved pharmaceutical Company Atral Cipan, July to September 2013 |
