Studying MPhil/PhD in Biochemical Engineering UCL-CONACyT Graduate Fellowship [email protected] While I was studying for a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, I became fascinated with cell culture techniques, tissue engineering, biomaterials, as well as their application on research and industry. When I realised the complexity of cell bioprocessing and issues surrounding scale-up to commercial production, I decided to participate in a Project that involves cell culture, bioprocessing, design of experiments and synthetic biology for the production of novel candidate cell therapies. Project: Development of a serum-free cell culture platform for novel candidate human cell lines for neural regeneration
We aim to develop glial lines conditionally immortalised and a cell culture protocol that can sustain growth in serum-free conditions using synthetic fusion proteins. A biologically enhanced serum-free media composition for the expansion of candidate therapeutic cell lines will be generated from different conditional immortalisation methods. |
